Day 2LIMA - (breakfast)

After breakfast, the adventure will start with colonial and modern Lima. Downtown Lima is a relaxing mix of Spanish heritage and modern habits. The Cathedral dates from 1654 and houses the remains of conqueror Pizarro and serves everyday to the Christian population. Not far from there, the Government Palace, the president’s official residence, stands out from other buildings. Some squares away, the next promenade will take you to the San Francisco Convent, well-known for the catacombs inside.

Lima was founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro and has been rebuilt after several tragic earthquakes. Now, the City of the Kings has an exquisite mix of Spanish buildings and Peruvian culture that entertain and amaze visitors. Of course, you are standing in one of the few South American cities declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1991. Are you ready to go back to the present and keep exploring the residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores?

Day 4SACRED VALLEY - PISAC - OLLANTAYTAMBO (breakfast)

Good morning! Breakfast time. Now take your camera, snacks and hat because we are heading to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a warm and fertile valley considered as the larder of Cusco. After relaxing initial views of the valley, we stop at Pisac, a village founded in colonial times and located in the foot of a hill with an Inca city on the top. You will witness the old bartering market if it is Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday. Handcrafts such as wool blankets, ponchos, jewelry or engraved gourds and produce are available. You can purchase them as well! Now, some kilometers away, Ollantaytambo, the Inca town that could contain the Spanish attacks, has an architectural Inca treasure towering from above. Let’s go!

Day 5SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU (breakfast and dinner)

Enjoy your early breakfast and join the private vehicle to the Ollantaytambo Railway Station. You will be boarding the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, the town next to your main destination. The train departs at 8:00 AM and the trip along the Andean mountains and cloud forest lasts about 90 minutes. Walk at your own pace to the bus stop to Machu Picchu and get ready for the main activity. Get off the bus and check-in in your hotel, the Sanctuary Lodge. Next, your tour guide will be waiting for you. It is time for Machu Picchu.

Known as the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu was built by Inca Pachacutec. Wild nature surrounds the stoned walls and rooms made with impressive precision. It is said that Machu Picchu was a temple for the god sun, also a fortress to be safe from jungle invaders or even a sanctuary. Decide what is the best theory as you wander by the houses, temples, warehouses and the large central square, all linked by narrow corridors. From everywhere, the look of surrounding terraces, some built for agriculture and some ornamental, will complete the architectural marvels of Machu Picchu.

Dinner and accommodation.
