The Inca Trail

Among the tours that are a MUST, we have to choose the Inca Trail and you will never, ever be disappointed, quite the opposite, you will have the experience of your life

The Classic Inca Trail Machu Picchu is definitely worth it, it is considered one of the greatest adventure experiences in all the world. There are very few trails where you pass 500-year-old archeological treasures while also hiking among some of the most beautiful mountains on earth.

Some trips we take to reach a destination, others we take for the pleasure of the journey itself. Peru’s Inca Trail is perhaps the world’s greatest hike because it combines the best of both types of travel: a four-to-five day walk to the spectacular lost city of Machu Picchu that winds through the zone where the snowcapped Andes Mountains crash into the lush Amazon jungle, creating some of the world’s most dramatic and beautiful terrain. Many experts believe that the Incas, the advanced South American civilization, blazed this 27-mile trail five centuries ago as a holy pilgrimage that prepared visitors to enter Machu Picchu. Hiking the Inca Trail is an experience which should inspire excitement and invoke a great variety of sensations

What do I have to know about this hike

–    Try to arrive at least two days before hiking in order to adapt to the altitude.  If were possible, try to go direct to the Sacred Valley as is lower than Cusco

–      It is better for you if you are a hiker, you don’t need to be very experienced, but a hiker, as some days you will have very high rises

–      Typically, hikers find that Mount Kilimanjaro is a harder hike than the Classic Inca Trail Route. This is mostly due to the difference in elevations. The summit of Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,342 feet (5,895 meters), while the highest point of the Classic Inca Trail Route is 13,828 feet (4,215 meters)

–      Actually, the Inca Trail is not risky at all if you follow all the instructions of your experienced guide.

–      View Peru & Signatures prides itself on having the most experienced guides on the treks, as well as the highest levels of service along the entire route.  With the best equipment of tents and comforts inside each one of them, your trip will be more than pleasant.

–      Our very secure facilities are a luxury in the mountains for the refinement of our services.  On route there are no hotels, but on arrival there is the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge up in the mountains and down in the village the Inkaterra hotel, as well as several others that offer excellent services.

–      We have had different ages of successful walkers, although the ideal is to be under 70 years old.

–      Our tents offer camp beds that include sleeping bags besides other bedding

–      In order to be comfortable and properly attired, it is best to wear a long-sleeved t-shirt and long pants as well as trekking shoes.

–      We do offer kitchen tent, bathroom tent and shower

–      The hike is beautiful; however, the second day can be strenuous as it is the day you walk the most hours

–      The safety and peace of mind are our priority, so you can rest easy
