  • Program Schedule: Please note that the itinerary below is for reference only, and is subject to change based on train schedules, your physical condition, pace, and any unforeseen circumstances.
  • Accommodations: Our prices for two or more guests are based on double or triple occupancy per tent. If you prefer a single tent, an additional supplement of $489.00 will apply.
  • Train Stations and Schedules: Please be aware that train stations and schedules are subject to change based on availability. Additionally, due to rain, the Poroy train station is closed from January to the end of April each year, our friendly staff will meet and escort you from the Ollantaytambo train station. 
  • Walking sticks are included for your convenience, ensuring added support and comfort during your glamping adventure. Note: walking sticks are not permitted at Machu Picchu in order to preserve this iconic site.
  • If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machu Picchu during your visit, please consult with your travel specialist to secure tickets, as these spots are in high demand and tend to sell out quickly. Additional costs apply for these once-in-a-lifetime experiences. 
  • Permits Required: 500 permits are issued per day, half are for the tourists and half for the porters. You can only hike the Inca Trail with a licensed travel agency like ourselves. We recommend booking at least 6 months in advance so we can guarantee your preferred date.

Itinerary: Luxury Moonstone Trek

DAY 1: CUSCO – KILLARUMIYUC - CHILLIPAWA ( L, D)

Glamour meets adventure on the Moonstone Hike.
Start your adventure early in the morning, boarding a private, comfortable vehicle with your guide. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Pampa de Anta (3,391 m.), where, after about an hour, you’ll make your first stop at Killarumiyuc, also known as the Moonstone Sanctuary. This sacred Inca site, named in Quechua, was dedicated to the deity of femininity. The ruins showcase intricate architectural designs and agricultural systems, reflecting the moon cult that made this area sacred to the Andean people. After exploring the sanctuary and the nearby agricultural experimental center, you’ll continue to the village of Huarocondo (3,331 m.). From there, you’ll travel up the valley for 25 more minutes to reach the starting point of your trek. Here, you’ll meet your dedicated trekking team and begin the hike. The trail starts with a wide path heading north, above the west bank of the Huaracondo River. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of valleys, mountains, archaeological sites, and the imposing Inca city of Wata—an important pre-Inca fortress perched at 3,855 meters. After reaching Wata, you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch, specially prepared by your chef. Following lunch, the trek continues for another 3.5 hours uphill, leading you to your luxury campsite at Chillipawa (3,750 m.), a picturesque village where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the local community. Here, unwind with a wellness massage and a hot shower. In the evening, savor a delicious gourmet dinner and retire to your luxurious bedroom tent for a restful night beneath the Andean stars.

DAY 2: CHILLIPAWA – CHANCACHUCO (B, L, D)

Engage with locals to experience firsthand their agricultural practices, religious ceremonies, music, and language, offering a deep dive into
Andean cultural heritage.​ Pause to savor a meticulously prepared gourmet lunch, providing nourishment and an opportunity to rest amidst the stunning landscape. After lunch, continue your ascent to the Accoccasa Pass (4,625 m..). At this elevation, be prepared for cooler temperatures and thinner air. The pass offers panoramic views of expansive Andean snow-capped peaks, emphasizing the vastness of the Andean sky. Begin a gentle descent towards the Chancachuco Valley, situated at 4,350 meters. This valley is renowned for its proximity to the glaciers of the Cordillera Huaynay, providing a serene and picturesque environment. ​ Arrive at the luxury campsite in Chancachuco Valley, where amenities are designed for comfort amidst the rugged terrain. ​ Wellness Amenities: Unwind with a wellness massage and enjoy a hot shower, rejuvenating after the day’s physical exertion. ​Conclude the day with a delightful gourmet dinner, prepared by the camp’s chef, offering a fusion of local flavors and international cuisine. ​

DAY 3: CHANCACHUCO / CACHICCATA (B, L, D)

Rise and shine and begin the day with a rejuvenating yoga practice amidst the tranquil Andean landscape, provided the weather is favorable. ​After a tranquility and peace of mind with a connection to nature and its surroundings, delight in a nutritious breakfast to fuel the day’s adventures. ​Star the hike with a gradual descent through the Puncuyoc Canyon and the Silque Valley, a journey of approximately two hours. Take in the highlights along the trail observing the remnants of an ancient Inca aqueduct, which historically channeled water from the Chancachuco Valley near Ollantaytambo. ​Wildlife spotting of the Andean spectacled bear, native to the region’s cloud forests. ​We continue our scenic exploration of the Punku Punku (Door of the Wind): Ascend to this Inca sanctuary situated at 3,940 meters above sea level. Known as the “Gateway to the Andes,” it offers panoramic views of Nevado Veronica (5,682 m.), a prominent peak in the Cordillera Urubamba. Continue downhill into a semi-tropical climate zone to reach the Intiwatana temple. This site was significant for the Incas’ astronomical observations and agricultural planning. ​In the afternoon we will have an exquisite gourmet lunch prepared by our chef. Following lunch we will explore the Cachiccata Quarry (3525 m.).
Arrive at this expansive Inca site, believed to have housed hundreds of stone masons and architects. Explore its terraces, administrative buildings, burial chambers, and irrigation systems. The quarry provided pink granite for the construction of Ollantaytambo. ​We reach the campsite near Cachiccata Quarry, where tents and facilities are set up for your comfort. ​Wellness Session: Unwind with a wellness massage and enjoy a hot shower, rejuvenating after the day’s activities. ​ Gourmet Dinner: Savor an exquisite dinner prepared by the camp’s chef, featuring a blend of local and international cuisines. ​To conclude the evening we toast to our dedicated staff for their exceptional service throughout the trek. A lovely breakfast to start the day, followed by a peaceful and scenic hike through the Inca Quarry to Ollantaytambo. This 3 ½ hour downhill hike will take you through rarely visited areas, offering you a chance to experience the beauty of the region without the crowds. Then it’s time to feast on a delicious gourmet prepared by your chef, providing the perfect break during your trek. Following a grand feast, we will take a drive to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the Vistadome train that offers panoramic windows for stunning views of the Sacred Valley as you make your way to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrive, your guide will escort you to the luxurious Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel or similar, where you can unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the lush surroundings. After breakfast, you’ll head out to catch the shuttle bus to the majestic Machu Picchu. Delve into the world of the Incas as your well versed guide provides fascinating insights into the history and mysteries of this ancient citadel. As you walk through the sprawling terraces, temples, and corridors, you’ll witness the architectural genius of the Incas—each stone carefully placed, each view more awe-inspiring than the last.     How can I best adjust to the high elevation?

    We recommend arriving in Cusco at least 2 days before the start of your trek to ensure you have enough time to acclimatize. Remember, hydration is key!
