The itinerary below describes the natural progression of the Classic Inca Trail rather than fixed clock times. Distances, walking times and overnight camps can vary according to permit and campsite allocation, trail conditions, and your individual pace.
The Beginning
Your luxurious Peruvian Camping adventure begins with a private journey from Cusco through the Sacred Valley toward Km 82, the traditional starting point of the Classic Inca Trail.
Here you meet the expedition team and cross into the protected trail system.
The first section follows the Urubamba Valley with views toward Verónica Mountain, passing through a landscape that gradually moves away from roads and modern settlements.
Along the way, your guide introduces you to Llactapata, one of the first significant archaeological sites visible from the trail, and to the relationship between the Inca road, agricultural terraces and the valley below.
A freshly prepared lunch provides the first introduction to your culinary team before you continue toward the Wayllabamba area, where your first private camp awaits.
Upon arrival, enjoy a hot shower, restorative wellness and time to settle into your glamping tent before dinner.
End the evening with a meal prepared by your private culinary team and your first night beneath the Andean sky.

Today is the defining physical challenge of the Classic Inca Trail.
After breakfast, the route climbs progressively from the Wayllabamba valley through changing vegetation toward Llulluchapampa, where the high-Andean environment begins to dominate.
From here, the trail continues upward toward Warmiwañusca — Dead Woman’s Pass — approximately 4,215 m / 13,829 ft, the highest point of the four-day journey.
There is no need to race.
Your private guide sets the rhythm around your condition, altitude response and the weather.
Reaching the pass is one of the great physical moments of the trail: a transition between two Andean valleys surrounded by dramatic mountain terrain.
After time to rest and absorb the achievement, begin the long stone descent toward Pacaymayo, where camp is established in the valley below.
A hot shower, recovery treatment and a carefully prepared dinner await after the most demanding day of the journey.

Day 2 is indeed widely treated as the hardest day, with Warmiwañusca around 4,200–4,215 m and Pacaymayo around 3,600 m.
If Day 2 is about physical achievement, Day 3 is about the extraordinary engineering and landscapes of the Inca road.
The trail rises toward Runkurakay, a distinctive circular archaeological site overlooking the valley, before crossing the second major pass of the journey.
From here, descend toward Sayacmarca, dramatically positioned above the surrounding terrain.
The character of the landscape begins to change.
High-Andean vegetation gradually gives way to cloud forest, with mosses, ferns, orchids and increasingly lush vegetation surrounding original sections of the Inca road.
Continue through stone passages, stairways and tunnels toward Phuyupatamarca — the “Town Above the Clouds” — one of the most atmospheric archaeological sites on the route.
Your overnight camp is positioned according to the campsite allocation confirmed for your expedition, allowing our team to adapt the final portion of the day while maintaining the experience and service standards of your private journey.
After arriving at camp, enjoy your hot shower, wellness service and dinner as the final night on the trail begins.

The final morning brings the journey together.
From your assigned final campsite, continue along the original Inca road through cloud forest and archaeological landscapes toward Wiñay Wayna, one of the most impressive complexes on the entire trail.
Terraces cascade down the mountainside while ceremonial structures demonstrate the remarkable relationship between architecture, water and landscape.
From Wiñay Wayna, continue toward Intipunku — the Sun Gate.
Unlike travelers arriving by train or bus, you approach Machu Picchu on foot.
And then, suddenly, it appears.
Your first view of Machu Picchu is framed by the mountains from the historic gateway used by the Inca road itself.
Continue down toward the citadel, where your private guide leads your visit according to the access circuit confirmed for your departure.
After completing the experience, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the return train included with your selected Luxury, Select or Supreme category.
Private assistance is arranged from the train station for the onward journey.

The price depends primarily on party size, service level, camp infrastructure and premium upgrades. A fully private Luxury Inca Trail has a different cost structure from a shared trek because the expedition staff and infrastructure are distributed among far fewer travelers.

The four-day Classic Inca Trail is moderate to challenging. The most demanding day reaches Warmiwañusca at approximately 4,215 m / 13,829 ft. Good fitness and acclimatization are recommended.
View uses proper camping cots with mattresses, pillows and complete bedding rather than standard sleeping mats on the ground.
Private hot-shower infrastructure is incorporated into the View camp experience, subject to the operational conditions of each campsite.
Luxury is our signature high-service expedition. Select introduces greater personalization and premium hospitality. Supreme is our ultra-luxury expression with expanded staffing, wellness and premium journey upgrades.
Distances depend partly on campsite allocation. Most trekking days involve approximately 5–9 hours of walking, with Day 2 generally the most physically demanding. Your final confirmed itinerary will reflect the camps assigned to your departure.
Classic Inca Trail permits are limited. For high-demand travel periods, planning several months in advance provides the best chance of securing your preferred departure date.
There is no fixed number for every departure. The porter structure is calculated according to party size, guest luggage, camp infrastructure and the selected service category.

To the chef and assistant chef—what an incredible job. Every meal was beautifully prepared and completely different from the last. The meats, fish, vegetables, and cheeses were all outstanding. One suggestion: while visiting a local family-owned cheese shop, I discovered some incredible handcrafted cheeses. I truly believe View Peru should consider incorporating these local cheeses into future meals because they are exceptional. The shop is called El Fresquito.
To the shaman, the restroom attendant, and every single porter—thank you. You are proud Peruvian men who work incredibly hard with grace and humility.
