DAY 1 CUSCO– UPIS VILLAGE– UPIS HOT SPRINGS (L, D)

Adventure Begins: First Steps on the Ausangate Trail

Start your day with an early breakfast at your hotel, or enjoy the boxed breakfast provided by your hotel, before setting off on a scenic 3-hour drive. Along the way, cross the Urcos Pass (4,000 m / 13,123 ft.), where sweeping views of the Andes will inspire you for the journey ahead. Upon arriving in Upis Village (4,250 m / 13,943 ft.), begin your trek toward the majestic Ausangate Mountain (6,384 m / 20,944 ft.), passing herds of llamas and alpacas grazing in the highland fields.

Pause for a midday picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas before continuing to the Upis Hot Springs campsite (4,250 m / 13,943 ft.), nestled among snow-capped peaks. Here, relax in the soothing natural hot springs, followed by a hot shower and a rejuvenating massage. End your day with a gourmet dinner prepared by our culinary team before retiring to your heated tent for a peaceful night beneath the Andean stars.

DAY 2 UPIS HOT SPRINGS - PUKA QOCHA (B, L, D)

Today’s adventure takes you deeper into the Ausangate region, with a challenging but rewarding ascent to the Arapa Pass (4,850 m / 15,912 ft.), offering panoramic views of rugged peaks and shimmering alpine lakes.

Descending from the pass, the trail meanders through remote highland meadows, where you’ll encounter herds of alpacas and llamas, along with occasional sightings of Andean wildlife, such as vicuñas or condors soaring overhead. Pause here for a scenic lunch amidst the stunning backdrop, then continue with a gentle hike towards our second campsite, Puka Qocha (4,700 m / 14,419 ft.). This campsite is known for its striking turquoise waters set against a dramating mountain backdrop.

Enjoy the tranquility of this pristine location, surrounded by the powerful presence of the mountains and glacial lakes. Indulge in a hot shower, relaxing massage, and a gourmet dinner prepared by your culinary team. DAY 3: PUKA QOCHA – QOMER QOCHA (B, L, D)

The Path to Painted Peaks

Begin your journey through awe-inspiring mountain passes, navigating winding switchbacks as the landscape transforms from snow-capped peaks to vivid red valleys and hills, each view more breathtaking than the last.

At Ananta (4,600 m / 15,091 ft.), pause to savor a gourmet lunch surrounded by panoramic vistas of the Andean highlands. Afterward, continue the ascent to Warmisaya Pass (4,889 m / 16,040 ft.), where the first glimpse of the magnificent Vinicunca – Rainbow Mountain reveals its stunning palette of orange, red, and gold hues, painting the landscape in otherworldly colors.

After just 30 minutes more on the trail, arrive at the campsite just in time to witness a spectacular sunset, the vibrant colors of the valleys and mountains glowing in the fading light. Settle into camp and enjoy a gourmet dinner, indulge in a warm shower, and a relaxing massage, before star gazing beneath the incredible Andean sky.
