Last Tuesday, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) granted a special seal in order to recognize Peruvian efforts to stand up and keep sharing its treasures with visitors worldwide. Recovery Started in Machu Picchu
Several authorities such as the President of the Ministries Council, Walter Martos, the Ministry of Tourism, Rocio Barrios, the Governor of Cusco Region, Jean Paul Benavente among other important names involved in the achievement of this goal announced the grantment of the seal in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
This award is the first step to give Peru and all the local tourism industry, with an important share in Peruvian GDP, a boost of energy to recover millions of jobs and companies including tour operators, hotels, restaurants and handcraft art shops. Most of them in a dramatic situation.
