Are there Inca Trail luxury lodges?

What are the risks of the Inca Trail?

First you have to pay attention to everything the guide tells you from the day before you will find out the details of the route. Sometimes the landslides are perhaps the most dangerous threat on the Inca Trail (but it almost never happened). Throughout the Andes Mountains, especially in the rainy season, rocks can fall from high mountains. The most intense rains in Cusco occur in January, February (February is closed due to the heavy rains) and March. Otherwise, the Inca Trail is a very safe route.


Am I too old to hike the Inca Trail?

The Peruvian government has not established any rule regarding age limits for hiking any of the Inca Trails that require permits. Our suggestion is that it can be done from 8 years old (with experience in walking) to 70 years old in good health.


Is the Inca Trail harder than Kilimanjaro?

Not really, typically hikers find that Mount Kilimanjaro is a harder hike than the Classic Inca Trail Route. This is mostly due to the difference in elevations. The summit of Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,342 feet (5,895 meters), while the highest point of the Classic Inca Trail Route is 13,828 feet (4,215 meters).

There are actually no showers on the Inca Trail, however, our company offers both hot showers and toilets in all our categories

Can I hike the Inca Trail in sneakers?

We really do not suggest sneakers as this are not advisable as Inca Trail shoes; the road is difficult with ascents and descents. You need something with a good grip for trails and stone steps. Also, consider your comfort in terms of cushioning and ankle support. Wear shoes indicated for trekking


Do you need a sleeping bag for the Inca Trail?

You will always need a sleeping bag. Most tour operators ask passengers to bring them; However, our company includes them in all the categories that we have.


How do I prepare to walk the Inca Trail?

First of all, you must be in good health. It is also very important that you arrive in Cusco a couple of days before to acclimatize to the altitude, preferably arriving directly to the Sacred Valley which is much lower than the city of Cusco.  Finally, you should bring the medicines that you regularly take.


Can I wear shorts on the Inca Trail?

It is not advisable because the road is uneven and you can scratch your legs, even mosquitoes can bite you.
