After wondering for so long, you finally made up your mind about your next travel destination. This is the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail. Your friends are already noticed via social media and your boss has allowed you to leave for a while as well. Now is the time to write down an Inca Trail Packing list and choose what items follow you to the mysterious land of Machu Picchu.
The list starts with your official permit. Without this document, you will not be able to give even one step in the trail. Next, place your passport, both in a safe and accessible place so you can enter the trail with no concerns.
Weather throughout the trail is variable, but you will only need two to three T-shirts and two loose pants so you can easily hike through the trail. Next, iron some underwear and socks, and put them in.
The second and third day of the trip will require wearing winter clothing: pullovers, earmuffs, gloves, and scarves. Intense sunlight during the daytime can be managed with a hat, sunscreen, and nice sunglasses.
TIP: Light travelers can shop for Andean winter clothes in Peru as well.
About footwear in your packing list, a pair of worn-in trekking boots will prevent blisters on your feet among other uncomfortable situations. Bring your favorite sandals to rest in the campsites or show your feet off!
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be granted by your travel agent based on your Inca Trail itinerary. Of course, you can add a water bottle, some healthy snacks or delicious candies, some pieces of fruit, and any other food to nourish yourself and share with your travel mates.
Forewarned is forearmed. Bring with your toiletries, medicines for you and your travel group, and a reasonable amount of cash. Ask your travel agent if you will need to bring your own sleeping bag too.
Make it fun
In case there’s still room for fun stuff, open your bag and fill it with the following.
Of course you can still pack and unpack other items to find the perfect bag with the perfect Inca Trail packing list, but relax. Follow this short guide and wait for the rest to flow. We others are here to make your journey as joyful as no other.
