The most unique adventure through Peru.
Upon your arrival at Peru’s capital city Lima, a View Peru representative will be waiting for you to welcome you and take you to the hotel of your choice. Also, on the way you will have a short briefing of your itinerary and once you are settle at your hotel enjoy of your first day in Peru at your leisure to relax or give a taste of the gastronomic capital of South America.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you first adventure of the day will be awaiting you at 11 am, as you start your biking tour. The meeting point will be very close by at the famous Larcomar Mall and it will be a pleasant walk to get there. When you arrive you will join a small group lead by your expert guide, you will be then ready to depart toward the highlights of the city. The first stop will be the indian market of Miraflores where you will be able to purchase any souvenirs for your loved ones at home. Following by the archeological site of Huaca Pucllana an impressive ceremonial temple belonged to the Lima culture. As you bike you will encounter the “Miraflores Malecon” witness the beautiful views drawn by the coastline and feel the fresh breeze, here do not miss on the Love Park and the bridge of redoubt as you pass by.
The rest of the day will be yours to explore on your own and make the most in the city of kings, by the evening you will be dinning in a cozy and delicious restaurant of Lima.
After enjoying breakfast, we will pick you up to take to the airport at the most convenient time and according to your schedule for you to catch your flight to Cusco, you will be warmly welcome by our friendly View Peru representative. Right after your encounter we will drive you to your Cusco hotel. The rest of the day is for you to relax and get acclimatize to the high altitude of the city (3999 m; 11,152 ft.) enjoy it and maybe wonder around the cobblestone streets.
Today after enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will enjoy of the morning free at your leisure. We will pick you up by the early afternoon to start with your city tour. The first stop will be the Sun Temple Qoricancha, a marvelous construction that was built with religious proposes during the Inca apogee. Following with the tour we will visit the Plaza de Armas of Cusco (the main square) where our guide will be deepening the information about the construction and history behind the Cathedral and its beautiful architecture. After a short drive up the outskirts of Cusco, we will be visiting the impressive Inca complex of Sacsayhuaman. As you cross its massive opening that will leave in awe, you guide will explained that this site was built for the Incas using rocks weighing up to 180 tons and that they manage to fitted them perfectly. The next stop is another mysterious site named Qenqo which means labyrinth. This site is a very interesting as is a rocky construction that is hides subterranean passages in its interior, this was also a ceremonial place where the Incas used to possibly embalm their death.
To finalized, we will be visiting Tambomachay and Puka Pukara lookout point. When the tour has finished we will drive you back to your hotel. The rest of the day is for you to enjoy at your leisure and perhaps wonder around this mystic city.
Commence this adventure after breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you towards the Cusipata River Camp. There you will be able to storage your personal belongings, also you will find hot showers, toilets, a sauna, and a comfortable dining area. You were provided with appropriate rafting gear and equipment such as self-bailing raft, helmet, wet suit, spray jacket, and paddle, all this while being led by your river expert guide.
After a short but important brief on safety we will take you on a 10-minute drive to Chuquicahuana, where the real adventure begins as you will be running through exiting 3 rapids class during 2 hours approximately on the river. After you have finished with this incredible experience we will head back to the River camp for a rewarding and delicious lunch.
By the late afternoon, it is time to head back to Cusco and you will be left at your Cusco hotel to gain your energy back for the adventures ahead.
You will be picked up at your hotel, after you enjoy a delicious breakfast, at 5:30am and brought by private transport to the town of Ollantaytambo – an ancient town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here we will take a short break for you to get any snacks or last-minute supplies before embarking on the trek. From Ollantaytambo, you will be transported to Km 82 – the official beginning of the Inca Trail. Here you will meet your guides and porters who will make this journey incredibly special. Once you cross the Urubamba River (2,200m), you will have officially started your trek on the ancient steps of the Incas. The path today is very easy and is a great warm-up for the challenging days to follow. Around lunch time we will arrive in Miskay where you will dine enjoying an amazing view. Your guides will tell you about the nearby ruins of Llactapata that you will have time to visit. From lunch the trail heads towards Wayllabamba (3,100m) then climb up to Yuncachimpa (3,300m) where you will find tonight’s comfortable campsite. Here you will enjoy a buffet dinner prepared by some of the best chefs on the trail. Tonight you will relax in your comfortable tent amongst the tranquil mountain surroundings.
Day two of the Inca Trail is accepted as the most difficult because you have to tackle Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass). In the morning you will enjoy a hot cup of tea and a hearty breakfast before starting the hike. This leg of the trail is free hiking, meaning you should walk at your own pace that is comfortable for you – of course we will meet up for lunch and at the most challenging parts of the trial to rest. Early in the morning the trail goes through the Llullachapampa Valley (3,850m) where you will enjoy the beautiful cloud forest. After the valley you will begin the ascent, the first 3km of the 6km trail are extremely steep but you will be walking through gorgeous thick woodlands and enjoy the complete isolation of this magical area. After following the path uphill for another two or three hours you will finally come to the peak of Warmihuañusca (4,200m). We will take time to rest and to appreciate this incredible moment. From here we take the steep path down to the Pacaymayu River (Sunrise River) where you will walk towards the Runkurakay Pass (3,050m) where you will get to see more ruins. Late in the afternoon you will reach Chaquicocha (3,650m ) where you campsite is located, you will enjoy a delicious dinner and some well earned rest.
Today is known as the most beautiful day of the trek as you will see a quick change in the environment to the thick tropical forest of Wiñayhuayna. You will come to the second pass at 3,950m where you will encounter mountain lakes. After the pass is an easy walk thorugh the forest then an Incan tunnel before reaching the third pass that will give you sweeping views of the Urubamba River Valley. You will pass the ancient site of Phuyupatamarca (The Town Above the Clouds, 3,600m) where you will see Inca baths that really show you their genius engineering. From the baths you will continue through another Inca tunnel towards the famous Wiñaywayna ruins (Forever Young, 2,650m). After these incredible ruins you will follow an Inca staircase up a zig-zagging trail to a red-roofed building that will be the last campsite. Tonight you have to option of taking hot showers (s/5) and bottled drinks are for sale. Enjoy your last night in the wilderness and delicious farewell dinner with wine included.
Today you will wake up very early to witness the amazing sunrise over Machu Picchu. You will have your last breakfast on the trail at 4:30 am then we will hike towards the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). Once you sit and appreciate the beautiful sunrise over the lost city of the Incas, you follow the trail on your final descent to Machu Picchu (2,400m). You will arrive to the ruins at about 8:00am where you will have a full private tour of the amazing Lost City of the Incas that will last around two hours. When the tour is over you will have time to explore the ruins on your own before returning down to Aguas Calientes. Catch the standard train back to Cusco where you will be greeted at the train station and transferred to your hotel.
Today, after a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, we will be picking you up early in the morning and transfer you to the bust station according to your schedule to board your touristy coach to Puno. This is the perfect way of learning more of Peru highlands, while on the route you will have various stops for instance Andahualliyas the Sistine Chapel of America, Raqchi a temple devoted to Wiracocha an important god in the Incas time. Later you will have some time to have a buffet lunch. On the way, you will see amazing landscapes of the countryside of Peru, do not miss the alpacas and vicuñas on their natural habitats. Once we have reach the highest point of the route La Raya (4319m, we will stop briefly for you to take a picture to immortalized the moment. Our last stop will be at the site museum of Pukara since we will be arriving to Puno, where a View Peru representative will be there already awaiting you.
You will visit the Sistine Chapel of America, Andahuayas, and the Wirachocha temple Raqchi-Time for a buffet lunch. Along the way you will see gorgeous landscapes of the highlands, and have the chance to see alpacas and vicuñas in their natural habitats. When we reach the highest point of the journey, La Raya (4319m) the bus will stop for you to capture this moment on camera, and the last stop will be at the Pukara Museum before arriving to Puno where a representative will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. Rest as much as you need to adjust yourself to the higher altitude (3,800m) of Puno.
Once you have finished breakfast, we will pick you up to start our wonderful program of the day at Lake Titicaca, very famous to be the highest navigable lake in the world. Firstly, we will stop at the fantastic floating islands of Uros. This community will warmly welcome you to the islands and there you will be explained on how the islands are built, then you will enjoy of a short ride in a hand-made boat of reed.
Secondly, we will head towards Taquile, this is an amazing and peculiar island which so much identity and culture, as its community has respected their traditions for centuries now, living based on a limited agriculture and farming. Your expert guide will show you the surroundings and give you further explanation of the islands before its time for a delicious lunch prepared by the local with native ingredients of the area. After enjoying lunch and this heartwarming experience, we will head back to Puno by the afternoon.
Once you have finishing your last breakfast and at the most adequate time according your schedule flight, a View Peru representative will take you to the airport in Juliana for you to take your flight to Lima and later connect with your flight back home.
