Upon your arrival to Cusco, Peru (3350 mt.), you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly View Peru Representative and transferred to your comfortable hotel located in the heart of the city.
In the afternoon, our professional guide will meet you in your hotel to explore the ancient charming city of Cusco. Feel the ambiance in the air as you stroll on the cobblestone streets of this historical city of Peru. Marvel at the inspirational city of Cusco with its Incan and Colonial architecture as you stroll to the Plaza de Armas (main square), for a tour of the Renaissance-style Cathedral built by the Spaniards on an Inca temple with the stones from Sacsayhuaman. Inside the lovely Cathedral, observe the colonial art, altars, and wood carvings. Continue to Qoricancha Sun Temple (The Golden Temple), built by the Incas, dedicated to Inti (Sun god), which once had gold-plated walls but was looted by the conquistadors of all its gold and built their church and monuments on top of and around the structure creating the magnificent combination of Inca and Spanish architecture, present today in Cusco. Next, take a short drive above Cusco for an eye-opening experience touring the monumental Sacsayhuaman with its immense boulders that reflect the ingenuity and power of the Incas. From here, visit the megalith temple of Qenko, believed to have been used for blood sacrifices offered to the gods, death rituals, and possibly to embalm Inca bodies in the underground tunnels. After an interesting experience, we move on to Puka Puka, the red fortress, and finally a visit to Tambomachay, the Inca baths. Thereafter, return to your hotel.
