16 Day Family Tour Itinerary


Arrive in Lima, where our View Peru representative will be waiting to welcome you and escort you to the hotel of your choice. On our way, you will receive a briefing of your itinerary. Once you are settled in at your hotel enjoy your first day in Peru at leisure exploring fine restaurants to savor  delicious Peruvian cuisine.


Following a lovely breakfast, leave your hotel with our professional guide to explore the highlights of the coastal city of Lima, the capital of Peru, located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.  
We will drive to the southeast of Lima, to the valley of the Lurin River, for a visit to the Pachacamac archeological site, the most significant religious complex on the coast of Peru, which was first settled by the Lima Culture around 200 CE and later came under the control of the Wari civilization until its collapse, which gave way to the Yschma culture in 1100, and finally conquered by the Incas in 1470.
Later, we continue to the bohemian district of Barranco, where many prominent artists, musicians, designers, and photographers reside. We will take a short stroll around the area admiring its small shops and cafes.  Then we will have flavorful lunch in a local restaurant in Barranco while feeling the romance of the city.  Afterward, we head to downtown Lima, the historical district declared a UNESCO World Heritage, to walk around the most important sites sightseeing its architecture, monuments, and a tour of the San Francisco Catacombs.  Thereafter, we will explore the Magic Water Circuit with its light and music show of the water fountains lit at night.   After a fun day discovering Lima, we will go to Larco Mar to have a delectable dinner with views of the Pacific Ocean.  Finally, return to your hotel to get well-rested.


In the morning we depart Lima, the City of Kings, with our representative to the Lima airport for your flight to Cusco.  Upon arriving in Cusco,  you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly View Peru Representative, that will introduce you to our professional guide.  Take a scenic drive to the rich Sacred Valley with its picturesque landscapes. Stop at the Awanacancha Llama Farm to see the adorable camelids of, llamas and alpacas, where they get the natural fibers to make sweaters, scarfs, and others. We continue driving passing the town of Pisac and onto the Pisac ruins (2972 mt.), which sit on top of a hill overlooking the town. Take pleasure in a tour of the Inca ruins which have many terraces, stunning spectacular vistas of its surroundings, the Sun Temple, and water channels. (Option: you can hike down to the town of Pisac instead of taking transport.) Take a stroll around the Pisac market observing the many stalls selling handicrafts, jewelry, paintings, woolen goods made of llama and alpaca, among others. Continue to Urubamba driving along the Vilcanota River (2871 mt.), where you will delight in a delectable Peruvian lunch made of fresh ingredients grown in the Sacred Valley.  We will leave you in your comfortable hotel to relax.  


Today experience a cultural immersion visiting the Quechua  Andean Community of Huilloc (3499 mt.).
Set off from your hotel with your guide in private transport to the town of Ollantaytambo and continue on an uphill trail to the Huilloc Community.  Upon our arrival, we will receive a warm welcome by the locals with dancing, playing Andean music, joyous smiles, and dressed in their colorful traditional wear. You will be introduced to their lifestyle, customs, textile weavings, farming of potatoes, corn, and other products, and other activities.  After a cultural experience, return to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo to have a delectable lunch before starting your tour. Take a stroll to the Ollantaytambo fortress that faces town with its stunning terraces, a ceremonial center that sits atop the terraces, royal chamber, and other temples. Then walk around the city admiring the Inca design still present today.  Following, a fantastic day, return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley for some time at leisure.



We start off from our hotel in the Sacred Valley with our well-versed guide to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Km104 (2170mt.). Now the adventure starts hiking to the Inca ruins of Chachabamba (2178mt..) an important religious site located in the tropical forest. On our walk, you will appreciate pretty colorful orchids, various species of birds in the lush cloud forest. Then we come upon the spectacular Inca archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2650mt.) translates to, forever young, thought to have been of religious and ceremonial importance built on a steep hillside overlooking the Urubamba River. A perfect spot near the ruins to have a delicious box lunch with amazing surroundings. After lunch, we continue our hike upward on steep steps for about 1.5 hours until we reach Sun Gate (Inti Punku) (2750mt.) and be rewarded with the first astonishing views of the glorious Machu Picchu. Take some time to snap a few photos of this fabulous site. Following, this incredible vision we will hike down to Machu Picchu (2430mt.) and continue to Aguas Calientes by shuttle bus. Our guide will walk you to your hotel where you will get well rested for tomorrow`s remarkable tour of Machu Picchu.


After a delicious breakfast, take a shuttle bus ride with your guide, for 30 minutes to the epic Machu Picchu (2430 mt.). Fix your eyes on the majestic site of Machu Picchu with its grandeur. Stroll with your well-versed guide through the Citadel as he gives magnificent theories behind the genius structure of Machu Picchu. Walk by the many temples and corridors admiring the genius stonework, feeling the positive energy left behind by the Incas. Once you have fully relished in its beauty and taken many perfect photos, we take another trail to the entrance of Huayna Picchu. Hike up a daring narrow steep trail to the top of Huayna Picchu to see spectacular views of its surroundings.  Later, exit the park with your guide and enjoy an exquisite lunch in Aguas Calientes.  Thereafter, take the train to the Ollantaytambo or Poroy train station where you will be met by our View Peru Representative who will take you to your hotel in Cusco.


After an appetizing breakfast, our professional guide will meet you at your hotel to start a fabulous tour of the Inca city of Cusco.
Cusco is the oldest city in the Americas and was ruled by the Killke civilization from 900 AD to 1200 AD before the arrival of the Incas.  After the conquest of the Incas, Cusco became the capital of the Inca Empire.
Our tour begins with a stroll to the Plaza de Armas (main square) on its cobblestoned streets to visit the Gothic-Renaissance style Cathedral built on top of a sacred Inca temple using stones from Sacsayhuaman.  Continue through the narrow streets to the Qoricancha Sun Temple, a marvelous shrine that was built with religious prophecies during the Inca apogee.  Next, we continue with a short drive up above Cusco taking in the lovely scenery. Fix your eyes on the impressive Inca complex of Sacsayhuaman with its huge boulders and magnificent presence. As you cross its massive opening you are in awe with the gigantic stones affixed together so perfectly. Our professional guide will provide the many theories behind the Incan site, which was initially built by the Killke culture and was expanded by the Incas. Next, we will come upon another mysterious site, Qenqo which means labyrinth, which has subterranean passages in its interior. It is also believed this was a ceremonial place where the Incas used to possibly embalm their dead and make sacrifices.  Then visit the Tambomachay Incas Baths before returning to Cusco to have a flavorful lunch in a fine restaurant. After lunch, you will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure to further explore the enchanting city of Cusco.

Today, we will depart Cusco with our guide in private transport driving through the Southern Valley en route to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (5040 mt).  Once we reach the town of Quessiuno,  continue to the starting point of your hike.  Walk on flat terrain for about 30 minutes but if the altitude affects you,  the locals will rent out a horse which you can ride until getting to the first climb.  Climb for about 20 minutes catching your breath until you reach the platform which brings you close to the rainbow mountain and where you can have a hot coca tea before your last climb up for another 25 minutes stopping periodically to catch your breath. As you climb observe the stunning views of the mineral-covered Vinicunca Mountain and the spectacular vistas of the snow-capped Ausangate mountain looming over the rainbow mountain.  Once you reach the top you will celebrate your achievement and feel on top of the world.  Wander around taking splendid pictures and admiring the surroundings.  Then it is time to retrace the trail back to your waiting transport to return to Cusco. En route, your guide will pick the perfect spot with amazing landscapes to have a picnic lunch.  Return to Cusco.


Journey the Sun Route from Cusco to Puno together reaching high levels of euphoria.
A delicious breakfast, and at the scheduled time, our View Peru Representative will take you to the Wanchaq Train Station in Cusco.  Board the PeruRail Titicaca Train and go beyond the powerful Andes to Puno in comfort and style being pampered all the way. Catch sight of the incredible vistas from the observation deck as you cross the Altiplano, observing the lovely llamas and alpacas grazing in their natural habitat.  Stop at La Raya, the highest point between Cusco and Puno, and take photos of its beautiful scenery laid out in front of your eyes.  Enjoy an exquisite 3-course lunch, onboard relishing in a wonderful train ride to Puno.  On arrival at the train station, you will be met by our representative that will escort you to your hotel at Lake Titicaca, in private transportation.

In the morning,  our guide will take you to the port to start the adventure of kayaking on Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake on the planet.  Before starting the thrill of kayaking, our certified kayak guide, will give you a safety briefing and paddling instructions, and assist with your kayak gear and floating device. Now the excitement begins as we start paddling on the pristine waters of Lake Titicaca along the peninsula of Capachica, and catch out of this world, visions of the vastness of the lake and the snowcapped mountains of Bolivia on the other side of Lake Titicaca. Feel the adrenaline as you paddle along the lake and the cool breeze blowing through your hair.  As we approach the Llachon shores we will be welcomed by the friendly locals and experience a cultural exchange-sharing lifestyle.  We will enjoy a traditional Pachamanca lunch prepared in an underground oven. After a fabulous, time we will board our speed boat and go to a remote part of Lake Titicaca for a visit to Uros Ccapi, the less-visited Uros island. Later we will return to the port in Puno and transfer to your hotel for relaxation.


Today, we depart Puno early in the morning, in private transport to the Bolivian border to start our migration formalities in order to proceed to the town of Copacabana located on Lake Titicaca.  We will take a stroll to the Plaza de Armas (main square) for a visit to the famous Catedral de la Virgen de la Candelaria, where you can ask her to grant you a miracle.  Next, we will take a boat ride on Lake Titicaca to Isla del Sol (Sun Island), where legend says the Inca Manco Capac and Mama  Ocllo rose from the lake, sent by the gods to start the Inca Empire.  Hike on the ancient steps until you reach  “La Fuente de la Juventud” (Fountain of Youth), to see superb panoramic views. Continue to the balcony to observe the beauty of Lake Titicaca from above and recognize how expansive the island actually is. After an exceptional tour, we return to Copacabana to board our comfortable transport to La Paz, Bolivia (3500 mt.).  Settle in your comfortable hotel with lovely views of the city of La Paz.


After an early breakfast, our View Peru Representative will take you to the La Paz airport for your flight to Uyuni. On arrival at the airport, our guide will be waiting for you to start your journey to the remarkable Uyuni flats, the world`s largest salt flats on the planet. Uyuni was a very large lake that spread across southwestern Bolivia approximately 40 thousand years ago but in time the lake evaporated and left behind the salt-encrusted landscapes of the Salar of Uyuni. The Uyuni flats contain 15% of the world`s lithium which serves as a lucrative extraction.
Our first visit takes us to the very popular Train Graveyard, where you will see dozens of abandoned steam trains scattered throughout. The Train Cemetery was created due to the decline of the mining industry in the 1940s. Then we continue to the town of Colchani, sightseeing rustic factories and artisans making salt blocks, figurines of salt, crafts of salt, and sculptures. We will keep driving through the scenic salt desert until we reach the incredible Inkawasi island, located in the middle of the majestic Uyuni Salt flats, where you will see giant cacti that stand over 10 feet tall, caves, tunnels, and a panoramic view of the striking white salt flats spread out in the horizon, making for a perfect picture. Here we will have a delicious picnic lunch while relishing in the surrounding beauty.  Later on, we will come upon the most beautiful sunset on the planet, over the sublime salt flats that will leave you mesmerized.  Following a glorious experience, we will settle in our hotel and have a delightful dinner.


Following an appetizing breakfast, we continue our exciting journey crossing the smaller salt flats of Chiguana, observing the Ollague volcano and onto the colored lagoons of Cañapa, Honda, Ramaditas, and Hedionda, to catch sight of three different types of beautiful flamingos feeding, which makes a perfect postcard.  Time for lunch before continuing our adventure. Our next venture takes us to the Siloli Desert, which is considered to be part of the Atacama desert, to see its incredible eroded rock formations like the bizarre stone tree.  Next, we come upon the gorgeous Red Lagoon (Laguna Colorada), a shallow salt lake of an orange-red hue, in the center of a wildlife reserve, home to thousands of pink flamingos that feed on the algae, various fauna, alpacas, llamas, Andean foxes, amongst other wildlife. After, a heavenly tour, we will go to your hotel to have dinner and to relax.


Today, we start another fantastic day visiting the incredible geyser “Sol de Mañana, which extends 10k. near the Uyuni salt flats. This magical place beholds out of this world landscapes of geysers, bubbling mud pots, and vapors shooting up in the air.  We will make our way to the calming Hot Springs of Polques, where you can take a dip to get rejuvenated. Following a terrific time, we will cross the “Desierto de Dali”, Dali’s Prairies, until we reach the Green Lagoon, with its emerald green waters, at the base of the Licancabur Volcano, a hotspot for photographers. After an unbelievable experience discovering the outer parts of the planet, we return to Uyuni to spend the night.


In the morning our representative will take you to the Uyuni airport for your flight to La Paz.  Arrive at the La Paz airport where our View Peru Representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in the center of La Paz, Bolivia.  After getting settled in your hotel, it’s time to start our city tour of the wonderful bustling city of La Paz.  Our first visit takes us to the famous Witch`s Market, where you will pass many stalls selling a little witchcraft, natural medicines, products for offerings, coca leaves, San Pedro powder for ceremonies, and other peculiar items. Continue to the Plaza Murillo to see, the Cathedral, Government Palace, and National Congress buildings. Stroll on the famous colonial street of Jaen, where various museums are clustered, and later pay a visit to the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku Culture. As we make our way to the modern section of La Paz, we will pass the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto, and La Florida. Thereafter, we will tour Moon Valley for an awe-inspiring time wandering through the towers and formations of the mountains, which according to ex-astronaut, Neil Armstrong, resemble the moon and reminded him of his walk on the moon. After an extraordinary walk on the moon, we will return to La Paz, thus enjoying time at leisure to further explore the city.


After an amazing vacation in Peru and Bolivia, it’s time to say goodbye.
