Upon your arrival to Cusco, Peru, you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly View Peru Representative and transferred to your comfortable hotel in the heart of the city.
In the afternoon, our professional guide will meet you in your hotel to start the city tour of the ancient city of Cusco. Feel the ambiance in the air as you stroll on the cobblestone streets of this historical city of Peru. Marvel at the ancient city of Cusco with Incan and Colonial architecture as you walk to the Plaza de Armas (main square), for a tour of the Renaissance-style Cathedral built by the Spaniards on an Inca temple with the stones from Sacsayhuaman. Inside the lovely Cathedral, observe the colonial art, altars, and wood carvings. Continue to Qoricancha Sun Temple (The Golden Temple), built by the Incas dedicated to Inti (Sun god), which once had gold-plated walls but the Spanish conquistadors looted all of its gold and built their church and monuments on top of and around the structure creating the magnificent combination of Inca and Spanish architecture, seen today in Cusco. Next, we will take a short drive above Cusco for an eye-opening experience touring the monumental Sacsayhuaman with its immense boulders which reflect the ingenuity and power of the Incas. From here, visit the megalith temple of Qenko, which is believed to have been used for blood sacrifices offered to the gods, death rituals, and possibly to embalm Inca bodies in the underground tunnels. After an interesting experience we move on to Puka Puka the red fortress, and finally a visit to Tambomachay, the Inca baths. Thereafter, return to your hotel.

In the morning depart your hotel in Cusco with your guide and group or in private en route to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.  Enjoy the beautiful vistas of the precious Sacred Valley of Peru, surrounded by the impressive Andes Mountains.  Continue to the Inca Pisac archeological site surrounded by many terraces built on the side of the hilltop, for a stroll on the top trail of the ruins to catch impressive views of the Sacred Valley, Sun Temple, and water channels below. Then continue to the colorful Pisac handicraft market to wander about the many stalls, where you can pick up some lovely souvenirs for your family and friends. Our next stop will be in Urubamba to relax and have a delicious Peruvian lunch.  After lunch, we will drive to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo for a tour of the spectacular archeological site of many terraces, and temples, facing the town. Following a fantastic time, we proceed to Chinchero for a visit to the ruins and to appreciate the surreal vistas of the fabulous landscapes.  Return to Cusco around 7:00 pm.

In the very early morning, our professional guide will meet you in your hotel in Cusco to set off in our transport to Km 82.  En route, we will stop in Ollantaytambo for a break and to pick up last-minute items for the trek.
