DAY 1: WELCOME TO LIMA (D)
Upon your arrival a View Peru representative will be awaiting to greet you at Lima airport, from where you will be transfer in a comfortable ride to your hotel. On the way to the hotel the representative will review your itinerary and will be gladly answering to any question you may have. The rest of the day will be for you to enjoy of the city of kings at your leisure.
By the evening, you will be taken to enjoy the fantastic dinning of Lima and when you have finish you will be transfer to your hotel to rest for your adventure ahead.
DAY 2:LIMA CITY TOUR (B, L)
After having a delicious breakfast, we will pick you up to start with your half day tour through the capital of Lima to appreciate the beautiful contrast between the modern and historic sides of the city.
Discovering more of this vibrant city, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site by 1991. As we start our visit at the most beautiful colonial part of the city walking by the main square and visiting the highlights such as the cathedral and the San Francisco Convent that shelters the mysterious Catacombs.
Your knowledgeable guide will enlighten you on the most relevant history facts and peculiarities. Our next stops will be visiting the most modern and residential parts of the city as we tour around Miraflores and San Isidro. After the tour you will enjoy an exquisite lunch at one of the finest restaurants of Lima.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore and stroll the city on your own, do not miss the opportunity to taste delicious plates in the South America gastronomic capital for your dinner.
DAY 3: FROM LIMA TO PARACAS (B, D)
Today our day rise early, right after your breakfast we will pick you up to head to Paracas, which is located in the south of Lima and is part of the Pacific coast. Once we have arrived we will visit the Ballestas Islands in a share boat ride where you will be able to see around 150 different marine birds between penguins, and pelicans and also sport the well-known “Candelabro” geoglyph, a massive figure that was design in the sand hills of the reserve. On the shore you will appreciate amazing sea lions laying there and taking sunbaths. Later on, we will witness more of Paracas as we go through amazing cliffs, re-sand beaches and coastal dunes.
After this wonderful experience you will be taken to your luxury hotel in the coast line to rest and enjoy of the views and the refreshing sea breeze, we highly recommend you to indulge in a relaxing massage session at your hotel spa or take a bath in the pools. By the evening an exquisite dinner will be served at your hotel restaurant.
DAY 4: NAZCA TO LIMA (B)
Enjoy a relaxing morning, and at the most suitable time we will pick you up to start with the adventure of the day as your flight over the Nazca lines await you. These lines have been a great mystery even nowadays and they are giant drawing figures that were supposedly engraved in the dessert around 2000 years ago for unknown proposes. Along the overflight your guide will explained about the theories and studies on these amazing lines.
Afterwards we will head back to Lima for you to rest and enjoy of your last night in the city of kings.
Note: To avoid long distances you may ask to overfly the Nazca Lines from Paracas airport for an extra cost.
DAY 5: WELCOME TO AREQUIPA CITY TOUR (B, D)
After you have enjoyed a delicious breakfast, the rest the morning will be yours to stroll the beautiful white city on your own and adjust yourself to the higher altitude of Arequipa (2,335masl; 7,661ft).
By the afternoon, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and lead you to start your tour in the beautiful White City aboard an air-conditioned private coach. Witness the gorgeous St. Lazarous quarter, the place where Arequipa was founded, walk through lovely streets decorated with flowers. As we reach Carmen alto, we will stop at the lookout to take amazing and scenic pictures with the Misti volcano in the back.
Later, we will head to the colonial district of Yanahuara to another lookout and then move towards the Monastery of Santa Catalina (St. Catherine) a religious site that remain close to the public for four centuries approximately. Wonder around its tranquil plazas, alleys and lush gardens. Lastly visit the Cathedral of Arequipa located in the main square before your dinner time at a fine restaurant in the city.
DAY 6: AREQUIPA – COLCA CANYON (B, D)
Today, after an early but nourishing breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel along your guide to start out tour towards the fascinating Colca Canyon. On our way you will encounter beautiful scenery and you will have the opportunity to see alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos in their natural habitat as we make our way to Chivay the most important city of the Canyon, it’s a very peculiar village that you will enjoy visiting. Afterwards you will be taken to your lodge and the rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and explore on your own.
By the evening your delicious dinner will be served at your restaurant hotel.
DAY 7: COLCA CANYON – PUNO (B, D)
Our day must start early, so we can continue our tour to appreciate more of the Colca canyon which is the second deepest in the world. As we approach a lookout you will have the incredible opportunity to observe Condors flying overhead crossing the Canyon as it was their own. Later on, our journey continues to Puno, as we escalate the Altiplano, which is a wide, high and plain plateau covering Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile. Once we have arrived by the evening, you will be transfer to your hotel to acclimatize to Puno’s higher altitude 3,860masl.
By the evening you will enjoy of an exquisite dinner will be served at your restaurant hotel.
Day 8: LAKE TITICACA (B, L)
The day starts bright and early today, as we will pick you up after you have enjoyed your delicious breakfast to take you to the port for you to start with a complete tour in Lake Titicaca. The lake is absolutely famous since is the highest navigable in the world, also it has an unmeasurable value as it has been sacred for thousands of years and even there is a legend that suggest that the Inca empire was found there.
Firstly, our tour will take us to the Uros island, where still lives a community that moved first to avoid conflicts between other communities on the shores. The Uros community lives in floating islands made entirely of Totora reeds that will only be of 30 to 40cm thick, an amazing thing to see. Some of the members will show you around and explain more of how the build their homes and later on you will be taken on a short trip in a traditional reed boat.
As our tour follows, we will head toward the island of Taquile, and as soon as we land there you will be warmly welcome by the locals in their beautiful traditional costumes and you will be shown around and have the opportunity to appreciate how skilled weavers they are. By the afternoon you will also enjoy of a delicious lunch made out of products that grows in the island. As the late afternoon approaches, this heartwarming experience must finish and we will head back to the port and then you will be taken to your hotel to rest for the day.
Day 9: PUNO – CUSCO (B)
After you have enjoyed your exquisite breakfast, we will head to the ancient Inca capital, Cusco. On the way we will once again cross the Altiplano and we will make various stops even on the highest point of the route at La Raya. Once we have arrived at Cusco you will feel light as it has a lower altitude than Puno and of course you will be taken to your hotel to enjoy at your leisure. We highly recommend you to explore the cobblestone streets of Cusco and enjoy of the various culinary options that city has to offer.
DAY 10: CUSCO WALKING TOUR & BAR CROW (B,L, D)
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your hotel, our guide will take you to discover the streets of Cusco, starting with the beautiful Main Square where your expert guide will give you further explanation on the Cathedral. Your tour will continue to Regocijo Square and San Francisco Convent while learning new aspects of Cusco history. The next stop will be the vibrant San Pedro Market, a cheerful local market where will be show around the various stalls, while your knowledgeable guide will give you more details.
After the explanation, enjoy your free time to wonder around on your own. Take the opportunity to purchase some souvenirs for your loved ones at home.
By the evening, you will be escorted to a special Bar Crawl, this will include 3 of the most famous restaurants in Cusco. Tonight you will learn the history and types of Pisco. This adventure starts at Pachapapa and then you will move towards kion to taste more cocktails and the night ends at Calle del Medio to taste another Pisco drink accompanied by snacks.
As is you last evening in the city, we have a special farewell dinner with the spectacular Main Square as your view.
DAY 11: SACRED VALLEY (L, D)
After breakfast in your hotel, your View Peru guide will transfer you to the Sacred Valley, which has a lower altitude than the city, and we will commence our first adventure. Firstly, we will stop at the town of Pisac as we visit its famous and colorful market. The local bring diverse products to offer such as vibrantly colored woven fabrics and alpaca wool, jewelry, and carved gourds; do not miss on the opportunity to purchase some souvenirs for your loved ones at home.
By the afternoon we will enjoy a delicious lunch made out of local ingredients that had been grown in the Sacred Valley in an exclusive restaurant. Afterwards, we will move towards the town of Ollantaytambo, where an impressive Inca fortress that stands out because of its beautiful terraces, your guide will give you a full explanation about the secrets and facts of the site as you walk through the cobblestone paths.
At the evening you will enjoy a delicious dinning at an exclusive restaurant, afterwards you will be free to enjoy at your leisure, perhaps you choose to indulge into a massage session at your hotel or enjoy the delicious and various options of restaurants in the town.
DAY 12: MARAS & MORAY HORSEBACK RIDING (B, L)
After an exquisite breakfast, we will pick you up to begin today’s very exciting program as we head to the ranch. We will visit the Salt Mines and village of Maras, and Moray archeological site.
When joining our companions of the day our horse and guide, we will start riding up to reach the Salt mines, there we will able to observe how the salt is hand collected. As the journey continues, we will keep riding up to the village of Maras, where one of the first churches first ever built lays, the San Francisco de Asís church. This will be the perfect spot to enjoy a cozy picnic lunch as the snow-capped mountains draw the perfect picture. Once you have finished lunch, we will ride crossing the streets of Maras, so we can catch on the coat armors sculpted in the stone doorways in house that belonged to various Spanish families in the colonial times. Later, we will ride the horse’s trough the plains to move towards Moray. This impressive site used to be an agricultural laboratory and development center, here we will stop to explore around we heard the interesting explanation of your expert guide. Afterwards it is time to head back to the ranch and culminate the adventure of the day as we will take you back in a private transportation to your hotel for you to relax and rest peacefully.
DAY 13: MACHU PICCHU (B, L)
Finally, the day you will visit Machu Picchu has arrived, and after an early breakfast, we will take you to Ollantaytambo, here you will board an exclusive wagon that will take you through the rural landscapes of the Sacred Valley until the surrounding changes into humid forest where our destination is located. Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, a view Peru representative will greet you and take you to bus station and later bring your luggage to your hotel. As the most important moment of the journey has finally come, your exclusive and private guide will be waiting for you at the citadel entrance. As the tour begins, your guide will share all knowledge, history of the ancient Incas, the means of the city and the various theories surrounding Machu Picchu. After your 2 hours guided tour you will have the time to witness and wonder around the magnificence of the citadel at your leisure.
You may have seen many photos of Macchu Picchu, but it does not give justice of how impressive truly is. You have the opportunity to take a short hike to experience Machu Picchu from a different perspective. Therefore, you can choose to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain to earn a more panoramic view, or you can also hike up the Machu Picchu Mountain to enjoy its prettiness from above which is usually less crowded. Please consider that these hikes are unguided and require an additional cost if this takes your interest please consult with your travel specialist as we need to check availability in advance.
When you feel ready, an exquisite buffet lunch will be awaiting you at Sanctuary Lodge, indulge into the delicious dishes they have on display. Following your lunch, we will return to Aguas Calientes Town where you will board the train back to Cusco.
Upon arrival, our View Peru representative will be waiting to transfer you to your specially chosen and romantic hotel. When you are settled into your hotel, take the rest of the evening to relax and unwind at your leisure. There is never a shortage of things to see and do as you get swept up in the mysticism of Cusco.
Day 14: FAREWELL (B)
After an exquisite breakfast at your hotel, our journey has finally come to an end, your View Peru representative will take you to the airport at the most suitable time according to your schedule in order for you to take the return flight home.
