After Machu Picchu, without exaggerating, Pisac Ruins was one of the most photogenic places we’ve visited in Peru. In the lower third of this hill there are about twenty Inca terraces, the paved road enters through there in the ravine; this group of terraces is called Chaka Chimpa which means “on the other side of the bridge”; in the upper third of the hill there is a natural formation with a human figure that looks like a peasant woman with a montera and a bundle on her back.  Also, we cannot stop mentioning the Artisan bread from the Pisac oven. The Inkariy museum is conceived to show in a single place the main pre-Hispanic cultures of Peru, where the development of the ancient Peruvian settlers is recreated.  An interesting aspect of the Inkariy Museum is its 360-degree approach. The museographic proposal proposes an exhibition tour throughout 5000 years of history through images, ceramic replicas, infographics, models and dioramas distributed in nine rooms related to the ancestral cultures of Caral, Chavín, Paracas, Moche, Nasca, Wari, Lambayeque, Chimú and Inca. 5 6

The idea of the museum arose in 2002 as an initiative of the Mérida family – children and grandchildren of the artist Edilberto Mérida – with the aim of highlighting the history of the main original cultures of Peru.
